Michael Barbar lost his temper, killed his wife and a 6-year-old daughter, and now is facing life in prison without the possibility of parole, or a death sentence.

Tamara Barbar

Barbar strangled his wife Maysam when she was naked on the floor of the living room in their Perris home, then bashed Tamara's head several times against her bed's frame until she expired.

Michael found out that Maysam were having romantic affairs with other men, and that he was not the father of Tamara.

After committing those horrible murders, Barbar went to a casino to play slots. It was there where he was arrested.

Police found out a gun in possession of Barbar, fearing he was going to go after other Maysam's lovers to kill them. It was a man totally out of self-control, deeply hurt emotionally. Crazy. Stupid.

Tamara was the innocent victim of this tragedy.

These normal people converted in criminals don't understand that they will be caught and pay a very high price for their actions. There are other solutions than violence to overcome terrible experiences. Choosing violence is the worst. There are no winners.

Explosive Exposition Against the FOX Theater

The FOX Theater opened in January 2010. The City of Riverside hired William P. Malone as operational manager.

Malone has tried three ways in two-and-a-half year to bring live theater to the FOX in vain. First, the Nederlander Operations resigned for who knows why. Then a contract was made with McCoy-Rigby Productions. This Company proposed a 2012-2013 season to Malone, but he didn't respond to McCoy-Rigby. (Typical of the arrogance and stupidity of Malone's way of operation.)

Recently, Malone announced his own season at a City Council meeting (receiving a very cold reception.) McCoy-Rigby Productions expired days ago.

This type of dismissive behavior by Malone has been experienced by the local press, residents, and extends to his business associates. Malone's mismanaging of the FOX theater has cost Riverside taxpayers thousands of dollars. Many residents (and the press) look forward to the end of Malone's reign as operational manager of the FOX.

The City has not extended Malone's contract beyond 2013. Perhaps then McCoy-Rigby Productions can have another opportunity at the FOX under new management.

The FOX audience were delighted with Cathy Rigby starring in the Peter Pan Production and became disappointed when Tom McCoy was told by Malone that their contract was not going to be renewed.

Malone's contract was renewed twice by the City, despite his operational shortcomings and rude treatment to all. The FOX has been a total fiasco under the operation of William P. Malone.

The Two Candidates for Mayor at the Same Place

The men of the hour were at Paul Davis' Fund Raising Party on July 5: William Bailey and Ed Adkison. They are the only two Riverside candidates for the Mayoral post  in the run-off election on November of this year. Bailey was surprised by the camera of our reporter. Adkison was talking to his friends Tom and Jerri Hunt. Tom is an elected Trustee of the Riverside Unified School District Board. (See information below where the photo of the Polynesian dancers are.)

SPLENDING PAUL DAVIS POLYNESIAN PARTY

If you had a heart condition, you shouldn't have attended the Paul and May Davis Polynesian Fund Raising Party at their beautiful home on Crestbrook. It could have been very dangerous.Those hula dancers move faster than the new Falcon HTV-2, that flies at 13,000 miles per hour.

Ward 4 Councilman Paul Davis is running for re-election in June 2013, but he wasn't wasting time to kick off his campaign.

The party was out of this world: Dozens and dozens of selected people of our society; excellent life music by the Tupua Group and its dancers, food as delicious as only May can cook, open bar, happiness, the works.

Use of fire is typical of Polynesian dancing. It
is a very dangerous performance art, and
precautions have to be taken.

Two of the distinguished attendants at the Polynesian Party were Riverside Mayoral candidates Ed Adkison and William Bailey. They were seen talking to different people about seven meters distance one from the other, but they never said hello to each other. This is an indication of what is going to be the closest and hottest election in our City in decades, on November of this year. The Truth is endorsing Ed Adkison.

Host Paul Davis delivered a brief speech, informing the state of the City, how Riverside has been blessed by God during the economic crisis, still having a very substantial financial reserve, all the great achievements accomplished not only in his Ward 4, but in the rest of the City. But  he noticed that the hard work cannot stop, there are many projects to be done for the benefit of the108,000 people who live in our town. We have grown and will continue to grow. Aloha, which it means in Hawaiian affection, peace, compassion, and mercy. Aloha!

A nice smile worth more than the whole money in the world. It is contagious, it does make people happy. She is Nola Tainter, Director of the staff of the office of Councilman Paul Davis.The handsome guy next to her is her husband Lee. What a nice couple!

A Little Known Passage of the American Revolution

The British troops had a plan in April 18, 1775: Destroy the weapons and provisions of the rebels in Lexington and Concord.

The American Revolution was in progress. In May, the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia declared war on England. Colonel George Washington was named General in Chief of the Armed Forces.

The document was written and presented to the Congress by Thomas Jefferson, although some editing was done by John Adams and Benjamin Franklin. It was July 4, 1776. The Thirteen Colonies signed the "Act of Independence," integrated by "The Sons of Liberty."

THE TREAGEDY AT VALLEY-FORGE

In the winter of 1780, General Washington was facing a real challenge. He had no money to pay the troops, which were lacking food and clothing. Many of them deserted. Others perished by the great fall of snow over Schykill.

Washington wrote to Robert Morris, Secretary of the Philadelphia Congress, "If possible, I beg you to make possible to pay the troops at least a month. The situation is desperate." The answer was negative.

Cuba was the only hope for Washington to urgently get the money to pay his troops. From Haiti, French Admiral Francois Joseph De-Grasse sailed to the north side of the Island and sent a message to Governor Don Juan Manuel Cajigal y Monserrat, asking for 1,200,000 pounds. The Governor had not such sum of money, but suggested the intervention of Don Francisco de Miranda in order to organize a collection among the Cuban patriots. It was a success.

THE LADIES OF HAVANA

The Ladies of Havana mobilized, sold their jewelry and collect lots of money, more than one million of ducats. Each ducat had the value of $25.00. So, about $25 million dollars were sent to General Washington. The troops were paid. De-Grasse reinforced the patriots with 4,000 men, provisions and armaments. Lord Cornwallis troops were blocked and unable to reach the battle of Yorktown. The American cause for independence was sealed defeating Cornwallis, who surrender on October 31, 1781.

Great Britain recognized the independence of EE.UU in September, 1783. Stephen Bonsal, the US Ambassador to Cuba, wrote, “The contribution of Cuban women by way of their jewelry, could very well be the foundation on which is founded the freedom of the United States”.

The Ladies of Havana declared, "We did it for the sons of the American mothers, so they won't be born slaves."

Tense conflict US- Iran. American war ships increasing its numbers near the menacing government. There is a very taut situation in that area. 

If Nancy Hart doesn't change her mind later on, she is retiring and won't run again in 2013. Three are three would-be candidates in the supper.

A man by name Chuck Connor is thinking to challenge Councilman Paul Davis in 2013.

There are good people living in San Bernardino, but it is a horrible town with bad government and police department and many gang members, not excluding organized drug trade and prostitution and lots of poverty. It is like a sub-culture town. Now in bankruptcy, the state and federal governments should get dip into their investigations about a city that is not saint as its name.

Riverside City Council should limit the times a single speaker uses the podium. Some of them use it several times, abusing the system. It is negative for everybody. At the long meeting of July 10, a man not only went over the 3-minute limit speech, the police escorted him out of the podium and he kept reading his speech from a chair. No respect at all for the rules. Enough is enough.
