In Spanish and English: When Love Arrives

Believe it or not, The Truth enjoys many bilingual readers. Today, we would like to please both Spanish and English friends, especially those who love poetry in the Cervantes language.

This poem was the inspiration of our publisher, after a very pleasant experience.

No me preguntes, perdón, te ruego.
Será tu voz, será tu pelo,
Será el glamor de tu sonrisa
que acaricia mi alma con su brisa.
No comprendo. Sólo siento.
¡Es que siento que te quiero!

More or less says in English:

You came to me in the darkness of the night,
to illuminate my dead soul in the desert.
It was so sudden, so fast,
my heart broke off from my chest
as the current of a river overflows.
Was I dreaming? Was I awaken?
What do I feel?  I cannot tell it to the winds.
It is a mystery.
I think it is because I love you.
Don't ask me, I beg you.
It could be your voice, you hair
It could be the glamor your smile
cherishing my soul with its breeze.
I don't understand it. I only feel it.
It is that I feel I love you!

CITY HALL OPENS MORE DOORS

Isn't freedom of speech abused a
little bit at the Riverside City
Council meetings?

The new communication facility provided by the Riverside City government has been a great success. eComment has been implemented by the City Clerk's office and allows residents to share views on City Council agenda items. It is an easy, electronic way to participate in local decisions from the comfort of home.

Visit RiversideCA.gov and select City Council Agenda or City Council Meetings. Then, simply click on eComment and fill the form. It will be available every Friday for the following Tuesday's Council meeting.

Under the leadership of Mayor Ron Loveridge, Riverside is one of the most democratic local governments in the nation. Communication is "numero uno": Televised Public Speaking at City Council meetings, e-mails, 311, Channels 3, 21, and 99, Internet, magazines, brochures, and now eComment.

At the Riverside City Council meetings citizens can express their opinions freely. But it is not uncommon to see some speakers going over the board, some times even insulting members of the dais. Still, some people complain of  "lack of freedom."

Gosh!
